CRC Carpet Knife Wesley's New Race Project *!Need suggestions on Electronics!*

Well since I got my offroad all fix up and all finish with buying stuff for it. Its' time to start an new project bulid this for onroad racing with the Formula 1 class at M&M since this track is starting to bring alote of onroad people around>>>>>>
*Just have to buy it from *Dean*.
Well I need suggestions on electronics for this car this motor turn limit is 17.5t and the esc must be 10th scale and my choice of battery is a 1s lipo, or 4cell NimH.
Do I need a special adapter or something to be able to run 1slipo?
Please Help?

Well I know your answer on esc is Tekin RS Pro but can it run 1s lipo or 4 NimH cells?
So I need a lil square novak thing for running 1s lipo??
What motor has the most Kv for a 17.5t? Idk

Wouldnt matter most are 2200kv
Make sure you get one that is efficient enough so you can gear it up , and not worry about heat.

Novak Ballistic 540 17.5 (Light Can design)
LRP 540 X12 17.5 (Looks big but still compact, efficient)
Speed Passion 17.5 V2 (Cheap)
Losi 17.5 (Cheap same as old Novak, Hackers run a bit warm)

With sensor = Turbo and Timing (Very efficient)
No sensor + Decent cogfree ESC = RPM (Non sensored motors tend to have a higher RPM, with less efficiency meaning kills battery faster)

What about esc's do I need that novak booster thing to run1slipo on like tekins or speedpassions? Ill be runing a sensor for shure so the lipo or 4nimh last though.

Tekin u need a booster.
Speed Passion Has a 1S ESC that doesnt need a booster.
Castle has a 1S ESC also.
Novak are trying to pull their heads out of their butt and make a decent ESC again.

Ok well what would you suggest 1s lipo or 4cell nimh? And can you get 1s lipos 5000mah 40c? Is that speed passion good or not?

Its as good as Tekin smoother but not horsebehind small.
It has built in Heatsink and programmer.
Tekin is compact small everythin built in but needs booster.

So what would you pick? Can you run Nimh to the Speed Passion? And could you get 1s lipos for me.

1S Motor and the ESC, that would be a Car Specific setup.

Or just get a Tekin RS and LRP X12 with a booster, you got to run a booster or rx batts which means more clutter and weight.
BUT once you done pancarring you can stuff this system in a different car.

So that motor is better than the 17.5r v2.0 looks like a brush motor weird? lol. But Andres answer this question can u get lipos?

I can get some, have to check what mAh they are.
But regardless you dont need that many mAh.

I am running 4000 in touring with turbo and doing fine.

Castle makes 2 1S esc i think also, something dean can help you out with if you anvil the ESC O.o

Motor wise i like the LRPs, But I seen the Speed Passion perform and they are as good.
Ballistics are great also but run a little bit hotter, though they are super compact.

Oooh Ok Sorry Im new to Onroad in offroad you want alote of maH to get those tires to dig into the dirt and jumpin. So with this speedpassion esc I dont need a booster? Yea let me know on the lipos. So we got the esc picked out now we need a motor?????????? SO many to chose lol.

Oh LRP also makes a 1S ESC if you wanna get that.
Castles 1S ones isnt too bad either as you know great warranty.

More mAh is true every where, but in 1S form are hard to get and are rare to find a High mAh pack at good price.
And it also means weight. If you dont need that much why haul that weight around in ur car for a race ?

The tekin motor puts out 2,500kv and this LRP put out 2,200kv Tekin wins but lets check on Hacker and the other one.

Since you so concerned on KV...
You really don't care about KV much given you want a decent amount.
But at 300kv difference which can be made up in Timing, Rotor, Gearing with torque.

You are more concerned of their efficiency especially when you run 1S.
