| I finally got the Viper Buggy motor in. Packaging is excellent and delivery service is top notch. I will post more once I get some free time. It's rated at 1800kV 2 Pole rotor with 3 slot stator 5mm Pinion shaft 7.35mm Rotor shaft cut down to 5mm in the front 4.47mm Rotor shaft in the rear. So rear bearing is smaller than the front. 45.04mm Magnet length 13.82mm Magnet diameter The motor feels notchy. The back cover is plastic. The sensor is replaceable. The rear has a rubber seal. Assembly is very good. Front motor screws are 2mm and the rear are 1.5mm hex. Heavy copper tabs. Front has shims and spring assembly. | |

| Hahahahaha!!!! Man, I thought it would be at least 24 hours before we saw disassembly pictures. You and Andreas crack me up, you have to take everything apart as soon as you get it. Hahahaha. | |

| hehhehe. What's the point of bringing a hot girl home and just stare at her. I undress her pronto:lol:
So this motor is what the LRP tried to be. 2 Pole spool up quicker than 4 pole motors. A 2 pole can take more timing and this motor is basically a 10th scale motor supersized to McDonald porportions with large fries. So you can use turbo as well.

| I can't believe Dean didn't let you undress his motor.
I'll run the motor on 4s in my GTP and see how it does. But first I need me some more bullet connectors.

| Did a test run today. It's nite and still 100F outside. The motor is what I expected to be. It has a bit more power then the LRP 1/8 motor. I couldn't get it started in sensored mode with the RX8, so I just ran it in sensorless mode. The RX8 started up the motor just fine. I'll check later if it was my sensor cable or maybe just a bad sensor. I just ran the GTP up and down the street. The power was nice and smooth and braking was strong with my gearing. I did some hard starts and hard braking just to see how the motor would do. The motor was @ 176F and the ESC was @ 107F. My conclusion so far; This motor is good for a light 1/8 scale car or when the weather is cold. Power band is smooth making for easy driving. I still need to figure out the sensor issue. Tekin RX8 ESC 107F after the run Motor 176F 9min 15s 154A peak 2245W Peak 26.39A avg 408W avg 1384mah consumed 47/21 gearing GRP tires @ 100F 9.20PM Protoform body Eagletree V4 EC5 connectors Acepow hardcase 5000mah 6mm bullets | |

Interesting analogy. Now I'm afraid to know what you do with your motors when you're not taking pictures. Hahahaha.

I did forget to mention that soldering on those heavy copper bars is badass. Makes for one solid connection.

| Heat is the killer here. The motor would be a lot better with a bigger diameter rotor. The 2 pole C50 Hacker motor is still the better 2 pole for buggy use, but cost twice as much . The LRP was a better design but still too small for buggy use . I'll try a 18T pinion and see how the Viper motor does heat wise. Keeping the peak current lower is key it seems, as continuous power is low. I will also have to mess around with the timing. | |

| Yesterday I ran the motor again and result is FAIL!
Runs too effin' hot man. 170F running half a pack is not exceptable. menMolestor comes to mind. I had to ease on the brakes and throttle to get to 150F. Was like granny drivin' in loserville county. I had more fun driving a 1512 1400kv 4pole motor. Sensor board on the motor is toast as well. My son's 2 pole C50L 1800kv Hacker has more power/excelleration and runs way cooler.

| Did a few test runs again with 0 degrees timing. Temps where much better. Run #1 measured with Eagletree V4 150A. Tekin RX8 0 timing Stock brakes 4s hardcase Acepow 20T pinion Ofna GTP 47 spur Peak Amps 157.35A Peak Watts 2069W Continuous Amps 22.08A Continuous Watts 324W@14.68V129F Run #2 measured with Eagletree V4 150A. Tekin RX8 0 timing Stronger brakes 4s hardcase Acepow 23T pinion Ofna GTP 47 spur Peak Amps 162.21A Peak Watts 2039W Continuous Amps 27.67A Continuous Watts 400W@14.44V142F So it looks like I can go up another tooth with the pinion and still be good with temps. | |

True that. Useless for 1/8 scale. To think they were bragging how well the motor was doing in beta testing. The motor would have been so a good for onroad if it was slotless. There would of been a whole lot of copper in there as well.

| I assure you the timing is advanced to at least +40 degrees and the turbo is programmed to only engage after lunch. Hahahahaha | |
