PostSubject: 6s1p A123 Rustler with MMpro   6s1p A123 Rustler with MMpro EmptyWed Mar 31, 2010 9:48 am

I finished the Rustler up last nite. It's between 7.5-8LBS of metal. Wanted a high efficient setup as I use the low capacity A123 cells. But I still want to be able to bash around at 40mph max. So I dusted off the Tekno Neu 1512 2Y 1400kv motor and hooked up to the MMpro. Timing is set for 10 degrees, low punch, 5.8V for the servo. Gearing is set at 58/25 Mod.8.

The system runs cold. The fan doesn't even come on. With lower voltage and a higher kv motor the fan was getting a good workout. But I didn't feel it was good enough. I wanted about 2HP peak and not 1.5 Twisted Evil So it peaks at around 1400Watts and I only used 825mah in around 8 minutes bashing around in my yard and street.

Anyways here are the pics.

Are those the Jato driveshafts in there? the reason I'm asking is because I did what you said and installed them in my slash and it started popping off at the ball. Did you have to trim the shaft length down to make it not bind while driving? I think thats whats happening on the Slash but don't know for sure.

Yup those are the Jato shaft. Had them there for a while now and didn't needed to be shortend. Did you lock up your slipper clutch?

It's pretty tight but not locked down I would like to save my motor shafts if at all possible.

Could be binding somewhere when the suspension moves. I only popped u joints when I ran way too much power, which was solved running dogbones. But even than I found the power limit of that setup. Rolling Eyes You know how I roll.

It does seem like I am getting some binding when the suspension compresses but I will double check. screw the dogbones
