OLD MEMORIES BEST TRACK IN HOUSTON I SAY K&M RACEWAY PICS

the track was very maintained , well it looks like it.
i love the dirt and espacially i like the huge roof on it

Sorry dude but this is OOOOLLLLLLDDDDD!!!! It's a shame too, that place was bad ass. Anyway, I believe that the people who are listed as "new owners" are the ones that Randy bought it from a few years ago. Then when Randy shut it down about 2 or so years ago, all the dirt was hauled out and it became a new business altogether.

I remember this racing event. It was the RC Pro Series race back in around 2003ish. I remember racing in that race the day after I had Laysik surgery lol. Talk about an eye burner!
K&M started out to be almost all electric off road and they had big crowds every week. 60+ on a consistent basis. Then they made the track a little larger (seen in these pics) and allowed Nitro to come in. Man it would smoke and fume up the place pretty bad.
I see plenty of THRC stickers on those buggy wings. Those were the days for sure. Even a "Fast Track" shirt on that one guy. That was a nice track that is now long gone.

The picture host website "NitroCross.com" was put together by a friend of mine, Able Longoria who is now out of the hobby and is operating a large photogropy website here in Houston now.

Man those pics brought back some memories.....

Danny, if I am not mistaken, the #50 buggy was yours in the 1/8th picture cause I was pitting for you at that race and I am pretty sure that is me in there back when I still wore glasses.

Yea I remeber it did get smoky in there lol.

K&M stood for Keller and Mahaffy racing...for Tom Keller and Brent Mahaffy. They are the ones who bought the place and turned it into a real track. Built the track, tables, stands ect. Back in that day it was all 1/10 scale electric. They hosted the nationals in that facility.

Humm interesting find Wes. IT does say new owners. But does any one know how new that Link is ?
Because no one heard anything about K&M being back. Unless those are the new owners after "Rich" cough RANDY owned it or some else owned it when he ran it.

That's a VERY old link.

That site was actually maintained by Brent Mahaffy circa 2000 or so. Melvin bought the place from Brent, which is what that site says as 'new owners'. Randy bought it after Melvin and turned it into a nitro track.

Hmmm ok.

Had some good memories from K&M.

My favorite was Performance Raceway.
