1st build tc4 drifter Empty
PostSubject: 1st build tc4 drifter   1st build tc4 drifter EmptyWed Jul 17, 2013 9:12 pm

hi guys im new to the site and also new to RC scene my RC knowledge is very little for now. trying this as a hobby for now because car parts atr too damn expansive.. so i been searching on which chassis i should start out with and kind of researched belt and shaft driven, and i came to a conclusion to build a tc4 mostly just to drift around the lot. like i said my knowledge is very limited and i wanna build a tc4 drifter asap. any help would be greatly appreciated!!

first thing is my budget, im willing to spend up to $400 max..

i looked around for an rtr tc4 but everyone said it will need to be upgraded as the parts are low end? idk
so im going with the roller chassis then build it up.

heres my list of questions lol

1. i will need a decent radio, servo and receiver, or is there a full kit?
2. i would like to run a brush less set up
3. i need battery and charger

with all this will my budget be enough??

im a newb to RC scene so i dont know sites that have nice prices maybe you guys do??
can you guys link me some sites or parts thats i listed above to purchase?

For $400
You can get quite a lot.
Look into 3Racing, TC4, used TC5, Tamiya TA05 TA06, Vettera, Ofna JL series.

Those chassis are all under $150-250 depending on Exotic parts. Also some of them are also Race worthy once you wanna race instead.

Electronic wise.
Hobbywing 80A or More Brushless systems Combo $75-150
Radio wise stick to 2.4Ghz $35-65 Ebay or used
Savox MG or something similar $35-65

So the last expensive thing would be Lipo but you may get away with RTR nimh that some of these come with. And save up for Lipo and Charger. $20-35 per battery $65-150 for a good charger.

Stick to Brushless (10.5-17.5) Less maintaining more play, Spend it once and be done with it don't keep on buying motors.
Same with Radio 2.4ghz = no running away cars.
Servo wise stick with Metal Gear Servos again low maintaining time more fun.

Sorry about the late reply... we are restructuring the website.
