PostSubject: A CS mod... oversteer.   Sun Nov 07, 2010 3:47 pm

I would like the back end of my electric 4tec to spin faster then my front.
Read that by simply putting a larger toothed gear in place of my rear pulley I will achieve this.

Went up to my local hobby shop and they could not help me.

I know that a Nitro 4tec 20T pulley can fit in place of my rear pulley.
... but then the belt won't fit.
Any suggestions on how to find a belt that will fit after putting on the 20T pulley.

I have counted the teeth on my current rear belt... it has 54teeth

What kind of math can I do to figure out the new size of the belt I will need.

If the Nitro 4tec has that puley every looked into the Belt of the nitro 4tec ?

Which Hobby store did you hit up ?

Also best way to do it bring ur old belt and compare to any belts inside the store
Also look into the Diff gears if they have different sized too.

(XXX-S Achieves the same thing with Bigger and smaller Diffs front and rear.
Cyclones do it with stand of puleys and longer belts, thats why you see alot of them have this belt contraption going on)

Did you also look on the side belts Gears ? they tend be easier to modify.

They gave me two boxes of HPI stuff look through, found nothing that would work.

Side belt Gears???

My current rear belt is 54 teeth.. I have found a belt for the NRS4 that has 60 teeth.
Thinking that would be my best bet.. plan on calling Randy's place to see if they have the Nitro pulley.
Larrys only had the blue aluminum set... I just wanna get the replacements.
Also doubt that Larrys has the NRS4 60T belt.

Seriously ...
You want custom stuff or help to make a custom part. Go to Randy's ask for Dean and Tell him who u are on this forum.

He can help you out or find something in their black hole of parts boxes that might work.
If they dont have it they pretty sure got an idea what you are trying to do and know what might fit and atleast can order or point you in the right direction.

Also they have plenty of belts from other cars at randys that might fit.

Yeah, Deadleg, come on down and we'll try to figure out what you need. We do have a "black hole" of parts to dig through. Hahaha. Or hell, I'll try to make you a part if I need to. I make parts all the time just to see if I can do it. Of course, a pulley.... hmmmm. That could be hard. Still, come on over to the store and introduce yourself.

Deadleg, it was nice to finally meet you. Come on in to the store anytime whether you need something or not. People hang out in the store quite regularly, so your welcome to hang out any time.

For those of you that don't know.
I got a sprint 2 FLUX!!!

Just did a minor CS mod to it.
Took a RS4 rear belt, a N4TEC 20T center pulley and slapped it on my FLUX.
Now I am running 33% CS... whatever that means.
All I know is my rear spins more so then my front.

Trouble is I busted up the ESC on my FLUX.
The double sided tape holding it down did not do its job.
ESC came off the chassis and one of the three wires connecting it to the motor came out of the ESC board.

But thanks to Dean, Wayne and my warranty I will have a new ESC here soon enough.

Here, I will make this post even more entertaining with this...

Greatest track I have seen to date!

Just order a front belt, 10T center pulley and a 13T center pulley.
... figure Ill get it around the same time my ESC comes in.
Locked my differentials today... and plan on making it a front mid motor chassis on Tuesday.

Looking forward to getting it all put back together and getting some side ways action going.

Another entertaining drift video... brought to us from Korea.
... watch it past 2:50... they drift in the rain.
... try to.

Hells ya! That is what I like to hear!!
I have yet to get me some Type A's...
... thinking after this paycheck Ill hit up Randy's to order em.

ESC or not Mark said he might be able to to do the front mid motor for me Tuesday.
I know I said I was guna wait until I tested the Type As... but hey...
After the holes are drilled its a easy mod for me to swap back to its original placement.

PostSubject: Understeer MOD!!!   Wed Dec 08, 2010 4:21 pm

I am all set for the front mid motor mod.
Took much of the rear assembly and placed it at the front and flipped the chassis.
Replaced my gears to get the oversteer set up I had when the motor was in the rear.
Problem was my 20T center pulley for the rear was to big now.
Making the belt to tight to use, that led me to use the 10T center pulley for the front
Putting the stock 15T back in the center for my rear, making this a understeer mod.
Now I am running 32/10 front and 32/15 rear.
For every 3 full rotations my rear wheel makes.. the front makes 2.

All that is needed now is an ESC and holes drilled for my steering.
Here is another video to make my post entertaining.
